Wipfli among the top 20 firms in Accounting Today’s rankings

Following a year of strong strategic growth amid volatile economic and market conditions, Wipfli LLP has been named to the top 20 national accounting and consulting firms in Accounting Today’s newly released 2023 rankings.
The firm’s net revenue in the fiscal year ending in May 2022 jumped 14.5% over the prior year to $506.7 million.
“We are delighted to be recognized for our tremendous performance even in the face of economic headwinds and the ongoing challenges in recruiting and retaining top talent,” managing partner Kurt Gresens said. “A large part of our success is owed to the innovative mindset and dedication of our people.”
Wipfli’s workforce growth topped 28% over the past year to reach a total of 3,105 partners, principals and associates.
Wipfli first broke into the Top 20 list in 2018 and has continued to rank nationally every year since then.
Wipfli has made “higher value” work a priority over the past year. “It’s not only financially profitable but more rewarding for our associates, particularly in tax, audit and accounting service lines where we’re seeing results that exceed our target revenue,” growth partner Brian Blaha said. “Giving employees work that’s interesting and challenging isn’t a new concept, but it has taken on increased value as the supply of labor has tightened and changing work culture is top of mind for every firm.”
Wipfli’s growth derives from a combination of mergers and acquisitions and organic growth as the firm helps clients navigate changing industry landscapes and an uncertain economy through value-added consulting solutions and core services.
With attention to building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, Wipfli has been laser focused on helping clients navigate challenges and industry transformation. “We have concentrated on being a one-stop shop for our clients, serving a wide array of their critical business needs on top of core tax, audit and accounting services,” Gresens added.
