Perspective changes everything — and it’s a major reason why organizations outsource critical business functions and roles. “Access to expertise” was the leading factor in organizations’ decision to outsource, based on our research.

Wipfli surveyed 360 C-suite leaders to understand their experiences and attitudes around outsourcing. About 72% of the leaders we surveyed have outsourced in the past. Among those, nearly half outsourced finance and accounting or technology work, and more than a third outsourced HR.

Across industries, the motivation was clear: Organizations pursued outsourcing to supplement their existing talent, technology and capabilities. And it’s working: 93% of companies that outsourced said they were satisfied with the experience.
