Why Attend
Professionals new to the organization, as well as professionals who have been there for decades, will benefit from this HS/EHS Governance session.
Join this training workshop to learn about the regulations and, more important, how to implement them in your organization. Review the requirements you need to know to stay in compliance through examples, stories and best practices learned from years of experience. Take back up-to-date and relevant information to implement immediately in your agency.
Wipfli’s nonprofit experts have been presenting the highest-quality training for more than 40 years. Participants declare Wipfli training “empowering,” “outstanding,” “meaningful,” “invaluable” and “relevant.” At this workshop, our experts will provide you with relevant training relating to the management and administration of the Head Start and Early Head Start grants.
Description:
This session is designed specifically for staff, policy council, parents and board members of Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS) organizations, including Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships. The Head Start requirements are like no others. You need to know what your role is to help keep your agency in compliance. Over the past few years, much more scrutiny has been placed on staff, policy council, parents and boards, and regulations and requirements are changing all the time. During this presentation and workshop, the audience will have the opportunity to hear information, share information and work through scenarios to help them explore how to use the information back in their agencies.
Learning Objectives:
- Review how the governing body is set up according to the Head Start Act and the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
- Discuss the role requirements of staff, policy council, parent and board members; why the requirements exist; and how these roles work together.
- Gather information on what training staff must provide to the policy council and ideas on how to conduct that training.
