RHC 101: RHC Program Overview

This session will provide a synopsis of the rural health clinic (RHC) program, including information on qualifying a facility for RHC status, an overview of the initial survey and certification process and requirements for maintaining your standing as an RHC. We will also dive into Medicare billing and reimbursement submissions for provider-based and independent RHC facilities.

Legislative Changes That Will Impact Your Facilities
Presenter: Nathan Baugh, Director, NARHC

This session is designed for clinic staff involved in billing for services provided by RHCs. This session will include an overview of Medicare billing rules and regulations, issues unique to RHCs and common billing problems for RHC providers.

Medicare Cost Report Overview

This session will focus on advanced topics related to Medicare RHC cost reporting and includes several real-life examples of common cost reporting inaccuracies and opportunities for improvement.

Special Speaker: Nathan Baugh
Director of Government Affairs - National Association of Rural Health Clinics (NARHC)
Current Position and Responsibilities
Nathan Baugh is the Director of Government Affairs for the National Association of Rural Health Clinics where he has worked since April of 2015. In this role, Nathan works as advocate for rural health clinics in Washington D.C. on federal issues. He worked with CMS to improve the rural health clinic cpt reporting requirement as well as the rural health clinic chronic care management benefit while simultaneously working to explain new rules and regulations to the rural health clinic community. More recently, Nathan has worked on the Rural Health Clinic Modernization Act and was able to get this legislation introduced in 2019.
