MILWAUKEE (Dec. 13, 2006)— Rick Taylor recently joined the staff of Wipfli LLP, a CPA and consulting firm with offices in Wisconsin and Minnesota, as the director of the firm’s tax division.  In his role, Taylor is responsible for growing Wipfli’s tax division and will also serve as a firmwide tax technical resource.  Taylor, who has also been elected as a partner in Wipfli, is based at the firm’s Milwaukee office.  

With 25 years of tax experience, Taylor has held national and firmwide roles of providing strategic tax services to business and individual clients over the last 10 years. Taylor’s areas of tax expertise include business restructuring and succession planning, accounting periods and methods, taxation of financial investments and instruments, and high-net-worth individual income tax planning. Recently, Taylor was national director of tax quality and consulting for a large regional CPA firm where he was responsible for developing and delivering firmwide tax solutions, spearheading the process to standardize tax technical processes and ideas, and implementing processes to ensure appropriate quality control for the delivery of tax technical services.

Taylor, who is a certified public accountant, holds a master of taxation degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He is a frequent national speaker for professional and business organizations, including the American Association of Certified Public Accountants; the New York, Ohio, Florida, and Wisconsin Societies of CPAs; the Financial Planning Association; and the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Taylor is also a co-author of several tax technical books.
