The Jewish Senior Living Group is comprised of three outstanding choices for Jewish Senior Living; Jewish Home and Care Center, Chai Point Senior Living and Sarah Chudnow Community. The Jewish Home and Care Center is an independent, not-for-profit senior living community providing skilled nursing and rehabilitation services to its residents in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The 160-bed facility is complemented by the organization’s Chai Point senior living community, which has 93 beds and serves independent and assisted living adults. Sarah Chudnow is a unique senior community offering a full continuum of living and care options in one location. There are 41 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments for independent and assisted living; 25 studio and one-bedroom assisted living apartments; 9 studio apartments in the memory care center; and a 25-bed skilled nursing center providing rehabilitation services, long-term care, respite care and end-of-life care. The first Milwaukee Jewish Home was established in 1906. Today the facilities offer a continuum of senior living options, from lively independent living to comfortable long-term care.



Situation
 

The Jewish Home had been using a 19-year-old phone system for its administration and for residents’ use. While it was important to maintain reliable 911 capabilities, the limitations of the archaic system were becoming quite apparent. The organization knew it needed a new Voiceover Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone system but wanted to ensure it would make the smartest technology decisions. It hired Wipfli to help manage the product and vendor evaluation process.



Strategy
 

Wipfli’s reliable experience with project management helped the Jewish Home first define its needs. The firm then guided the organization in developing the right criteria for product selection.

Thereafter, Wipfli provided complete project management, preparing the RFPs, managing the bids, and helping to interview vendors. Wipfli narrowed the field to three different products and three different implementation partners and participated in the various product demonstrations.
