We recently installed CRM 2013 on Server 2012 and configured IFD.  CRM websites through IFD were working fine, but we had issues in configuring the CRM for Outlook client.  After some research, we found that the issue is with ADFS 2.1 which doesn't have mex endpoints configured properly.  The fix is addressed by this blog post.

We have several MCRM 2011 ‘environments’ created for a client; most commonly referred to as a Development, Quality Assurance, and Production. Through the course of the implementation we have added and removed attributes and relationships from the Development environment but have not necessarily made the same changes in the other environments.  This post discusses the lessons learned through the process of trying to get all the environments back in sync.

There has been a major change in IFD from CRM 4.0 to CRM 2011. There is no longer a tool to configure IFD, but instead it is done with the Deployment manager in CRM 2011. Additionally, configuration of IFD in CRM 4.0 required some knowledge of IP addressing and Networking, but CRM 2011 has made it fairly simple in terms of networking.

Unable to Track Email in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 for Outlook Client

Our customers have run into issues tracking specific emails in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 Outlook Client and receive a misleading error: The text entered exceeds the maximum length. Upon further review, the root cause of this issue can be addressed by updating the messageid attribute on the MCRM Email entity.

Workflow in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 is a huge step forward from 3.0 in terms of flexibility and maintainability, as well as reducing the learning curve for the average CRM configurator. Most of my experience with it this far has been very positive; there are very few things that I've needed to do that could not be accomplished by Dynamic CRM's out-of-the-box capabilities. Here we review some of the limitations and subsequent solutions.
